Creative Commons Licensing

The content in my blog is now protected under a Creative Commons license. The following Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license allows others to share or modify my work for non-commercial purposes as long as the work is attributed in the way that I have specified. Individuals who use my work as-is, or individuals who “alter, transform, or build upon this work” have permission to “distribute the resulting work only under the same or similar license to this one.”

I chose this Creative Commons license because so much of what I have learned, and have built upon has come from teachers who were willing to share their ideas and their work with me. Teachers share. It’s what we do. It is nice though, when I do have an original idea, to be able to savor a bit of the credit. Usually though, when I have that one original idea, some other teacher comes along and makes it even better!

You can find more information about Creative Commons licensing at http://creativecommons.org/. The site is loaded with information and easy to navigate. I found the descriptions and links to various educational projects (http://creativecommons.org/education) to be particularly interesting.
